XIV. Cinematography

In addition to working as a practicing artist, I collaborate on a variety of photochemical film projects. I work with two types of analogue 16mm cameras; an Aaton LTR Super 16mm and Bolex SBM. Both cameras are champions of the photochemical film process, each with unique strengths. The Aaton, a hallmark of French cinema, has been the choice of eminent directors like Jean-Luc Godard and is lauded for its exceptional design and user comfort among 16mm cameras. The Bolex, a compact and hand-wound camera, is preferred for its portability and autonomy from power sources, making it ideal for fieldwork and remote shooting. Its reliability in such conditions is why it was notably used on David Attenborough's 'Life on Earth'. For those that are new to analogue film, I can assist in conceptualising film projects, as well as guidance on procuring the right film stock, developing photochemical film, and editing and projecting analogue film.

For hire inquiries, I am available with or without my equipment in Brussels and across Europe. Should you only require the gear, it is available for rental on Gearbooker [I am open to discussing pricing options to suit your project's budget]. I also rent out 16mm projectors and loopers.
